Marine Traffic

Marrine Traffic LogoWhen a company purchases licenses to modules of our Maritime Software they receive an empty Vessels Database and an empty Address Book. This allows the client to use their own resources and network to populate their database with only the information it needs. We at bluVerve, however, realise the need and value of having a pre-populated Vessels Database and Address Book, and that this needs to be updated frequently. We also realise that it is unlikely for any one of our clients to be able to source information about all the vessels and all the shipping and para-shipping companies around the world.

In order to provide this added value, we have come to an agreement with Marine Traffic to provide our clients with the Marine Traffic Data that is relevant to the modules for which the client has licenses. When purchasing licenses for this module, our clients will be able to have up-to-date information about all the vessels relevant to their sector of the Maritime Industry, the companies with which they will likely interact, as well as the Vessels’ AIS locations.

Unlike with IHS Fairplay and Marine Information Services, with Marine Traffic we do not pre-populate the database. Once a user creates a Vessel with its IMO number in the system, the user will be able to click a button and “pull” from Marine Traffic all information relating to that vessel. It is done in this way as Marine Traffic sells “credits” that will be used to purchase their data and this ensures that they are spent in only the Vessels that the client is interested in.

We believe that by affiliating ourselves with Marine Traffic, one of the top data collection companies, we will not only add value to the bluVerve Maritime Software but will also provide added value to our clients, allowing them to perform their daily tasks more effectively and efficiently.

If you would like to find out more about this and all our modules, feel free to request a demo by sending us an email to or contact us from here, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. References can be provided upon request.
