The recycling market kept its positive outlook with end users appetite for several vessels in the sub-continent market leading to high interest for the few demo candidates available. In Bangladesh prices have been kept high, despite the monsoon season having taken its toll in the deliveries of steel. Nonetheless local buyers’ appetite appears to remain healthy for the time being. 21st July 2017 – Volume 179 Issue 784 – Week 29


Following the glut of tanker deals (including two NITC VLCCs) last week, this week proved to be a far more moderate affair (in terms of sales) despite local prices improving even further.

At present, it seems to be a shoot out between Pakistan and Bangladesh for the top spot in the market rankings and whilst most dry vessels (surprisingly, even the ones positioned in the Far East) are reportedly heading towards Pakistani shores, the Bangladeshi market remains distracted, taking in most of the wet units on offer…..
